It was 40 years ago on the 7th July 1977 that I played my first ever live show. It was with my oldest mate Colin Freeborn in a band called Flame or Jackal or Brainquake (I really cant remember). The show was at Pangbourne college and we featured way down the bill of course. I don’t remember that much about the show, except playing through the legendary Paul Kossoff’s Marshalls. So 40 years later we went out to dinner to celebrate. I owe Colin a massive, massive thank you for getting me started, driving me about, setting up my gear and looking out for me.
